Summarize the differences between troubleshooting a single-action and a double-action revolver.
I believe this is still going to depend on the make and model of firearm you are working on. For example, with most single action revolvers the cylinder will not move until you quarter or half cock the hammer but with the Ruger Black Hawk single action revolver once the loading gate is opened the cylinder will rotate even though the hammer is all the way forward. On occasion I will get shooters with new Heritage Rough Rider single action revolvers that tell me it will not fir

Ruger New Model Blackhawk Troubleshooting
The customer brings you a Ruger® New Model Blackhawk® and claims that it doesn’t fire when he pulls the trigger. He says that the hammer seems to be working; it locks back, and it falls when he pulls the trigger.

Winchester Model 1897 Troubleshooting
The customer has brought you the following Winchester Model 1897. It’s clean and well oiled, but very worn. The customer explains that when she works the action, the hammer doesn’t stay back – it simply moves forward with the action. You confirm this by attempting to work the action yourself.

Early-1900’s Winchester 1892 Part Two
Unbeknownst to the customer in Part 1, the Winchester had a badly worn firing pin and would not have fired, if he had tried. I will be using my answers from Part 1 to respond to the following prompts.

Early-1900’s Winchester 1892 Troubleshooting
Customer brings you an early-1900’s Winchester 1892 that he recently inherited. He states that it has been in his father’s gun cabinet for at least 50 years, and he can not remember the last time he saw his father take it out. Besides a little surface rust, the rifle appears to be in fairly good working order. The customer’s complaint is that the rifle is not feeding when he charges the action. He claims he can “get it to work once in a while, but not consistently”. He is onl

DPMS AR Pistol Review
The DPMS AR-15 pistol is a semi-automatic, short-barreled AR-pattern pistol based on the classic AR-15 design. It uses a pistol-length barrel (typically 7.5–11.5″) and a pistol stabilizing brace instead of a rifle stock, making it compact, maneuverable, and legal as a standard firearm in most U.S. jurisdictions (not an SBR) so long as it’s configured with a brace and meets all local/state rules. Buds Guns+1 Common chamberings include 5.56 NATO/.223 Remington and sometime

Mossberg 590 Shockwave Review
The Mossberg 590 Shockwave is a compact, pump-action 12-gauge “firearm” based on Mossberg’s proven 590 shotgun family. It features a 14-inch barrel and a bird’s-head (“Raptor”) grip instead of a traditional shoulder stock. Though it fires standard shotgun shells, it is classified as a non-NFA firearm (not a short-barreled shotgun) in most U.S. jurisdictions because it is not designed to be fired from the shoulder and the overall length exceeds 26 inches. Describe the M203 (make, model, action type) and share the resources you used to find the information.
The Lewis Machine & Tool M203 Grenade Launcher. Though it falls into the category of a destructive device and required me to get a tax stamp from the ATF to own, the AFT list this as an “NFA Firearm” so I believe it meets the criteria of a firearm. As I have already listed the make and model of “firearm” I will add that it has been in service since 1969 and is a single-shot, breech-loaded, pump action (sliding barrel), shoulder-fired weapon that fires multiple types of 40MM r

List three similarities and three differences of the Mauser, Straight-Pull, and Mosin-Nagant.
What I think is the most interesting thing about all the rifles we will discuss today is their use as weapons of war. Most people hear that term today and automatically think of something like the AR-15(or M4) or the AK-47 (or AK-74) but in fact the Mauser, Mosin-Nagant, and Straight pull type bolt action rifles were some of the original weapons of war because all three were used in WWII. All three also use what is known as "a Cock-On-Open system" and have some type of handle

Summarize what occurs during ejecting, cocking, feeding, and chambering operations.
So, let’s begin with my description of ejecting. In most cases ejecting is the process in which the cartridge that was just fired is expelling the used casing from the firearm. With semi-automatic firearms there will usually be some type of ejector bar that kicks the used casing off the bolt face but in break action type firearms it is very different. If the break action has an ejector, it usually comes in the form of a piece of metal that springs the used casings out once th
